A cancer diagnosis brings enough uncertainty, fatigue, and emotional weight. Financial pressure should not add to an already trying and arduous journey.
At Holy Family Memorial Credit Union (HFMCU), our Cancer Care Debt Relief Program is designed to ease financial strain during treatment and recovery. It offers guided, structured, potential relief under clear guidelines, so members can concentrate on their health, their families, and the road ahead.
This program is built on four principles:
We provide relief compassionately, and administer it carefully, so we can continue serving members in need for years to come.
To ensure the program is sustainable and fair, eligibility includes:
Each situation is reviewed individually and confidentially.
Eligible members may receive but not limited to:
Additional extensions may be considered by the President with Board approval.
Financial relief is only part of the program. Every participant works with a trained Cancer Care Agent (CCA) and a certified financial counselor.
During the relief period, members agree not to incur additional debt without consultation, ensuring the program truly stabilizes—not compounds—financial strain.
HFMCU maintains strict monitoring and reporting standards, including:
This careful governance ensures the program remains sustainable and equitable for all members.
Cancer affects more than the body—it impacts families, income, routines, and peace of mind. The Cancer Care Debt Relief Program exists because we believe financial institutions can do more than lend money. We can stand beside members in their most difficult seasons.
If you or a loved one is facing cancer and experiencing financial hardship, we invite you to speak with us. Conversations are confidential, respectful, and centered on understanding your situation with care.
At Holy Family Memorial Credit Union, we cannot fight cancer for you—but we can help remove one of its burdens.
